Chicago Social Media Week 2011

I’m looking forward to joining Adam Mirabella (Nokia’s Global Head of Social Media & Digital Marketing), Colin Wright (entrerpreneur & creator of Exhile Lifestyle) and host Hugo Perez (SVP, Zocalo Group) at Chicago’s Social Media Week on September 22nd.  Here’s the description of our panel:

Always On, Always Connected, Always Local

Wednesday, September 21 at 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM / Harold Washington Library (Chicago)

A provocative discussion with a variety of leading tastemakers on how social conversations taking place on digital and mobile technologies are changing the way consumers shop and make purchase decisions. We will explore how our brand engagement is evolving now that we are always connected, with the ability to access a real-time treasure trove of insight and recommendation.  This event will include livestreaming and real-time discussion with Panelists joining the discussion from other Countries and locations.

Crain’s is covering the week of events, starting with a great piece about how Scratch uses social media to power the SunDrop campaign and some extra stuff I said in the interview with writer Steve Hendershot.

If you’re in Chicago, see you there.   If not, you can follow this one online, I think, and tweet some questions/comments/jokes about how seriously people take this social media stuff.
