Diesel Just Brought “Be Stupid” Debra Knippelberger To Bum-Rush Me Here In The MTV Lobby

Ok so we were returning to the office from a company-wide summit, a few thousand of us, and freakin’ Debra Knippelberger comes out of nowehere and hands me a T-shirt and introduces herself. Now if you don’t know the character Debra Knippelberger, here’s a YouTube video of her so you get who I am talking about…

So back to the story of what just happened 5 minutes ago here in our lobby at MTV. Debra starts talking about I-don’t-know-what, and then apologizes “for being so stupid,” as she put it. Then she hands me a T-shirt. Here’s Carlos, from my office, holding the shirt:

Then Debra hands me a gigantic poster and some stuff about Diesel jeans. She turns around and struts away, and I’m left with a few dozen colleagues staring at me like “What the F was that?”

It’s part of Diesel’s new campaign, created by Anomaly. Here’s a video by Anomaly that frames up the central conceit of the campaign:

Props to Erin Hawker at Diesel. Erin always surprises me with whack stuff. Erin’s the one who sent me this, way back…

I’m still a little weirded out that Debra — who is getting huge in her own right on YouTube right now — just paid me a personal visit (in front of everybody in the lobby). I haven’t had a chance to check out their actual campaign, but here’s some background on what they’re up to.
