Jack White & The Dead Weather From All Angles Using Immersive Media’s 360 Camera At The Woodies

We worked with Immersive Media this year to bring a new element to the Woodies experience on mtv.com. Immersive has this 360 camera that enables online users to view the show from almost any perspective. Or, you can just zoom in on Mary-Louise Parker or Zooey Dechannel or Jessica Stam all night and watch them watching the show. (You sick bastard, keep your eye on the bands.)

Before the show, I got Immersive to show me how the thing works…

Ok now check it out yourself and you’ll see what I mean about how intense this is. Here’s Jack White and The Dead Weather.

I think this is the same technology (or at least the same principle) they use when shooting automotive ads. Online the user can check out every single angle of the car. And even zoom inside the vehicle to check out the interior. Hot spots are highlighted, and when a user clicks on a hot spot you can interact with the car. For example, turn on the wipers, or indicators. Or even start the engine. Pretty cool.
