Octogenarians Camp Out For Live Simulcasts of The Metropolitan Opera
Maybe opera's not dead. These people arrived at the Strand Theater in Rockland, Maine, at 5:30AM. Why? To buy tickets for the Metropolitan Opera's season of live simulcasts.
True, I couldn't spot anyone under 70, but still, think about it — it was 5:30AM and these people were literally camped out to buy tickets to a season of performances to be simulcast in a renovated movie theater. I guess The Met knew what they were doing.
