The 2011 Top Ten Most Popular Posts On Somethingburning.com

A bloggy thing to do, it seems, is to look back at your stats and see what visitors visited most each year, then turn that into a post.  Ok, why not.

This year, Somethingburning.com’s traffic (thank you!) and active readership (thank you!), have been just great.  Unexpectedly so.  I don’t aim for large numbers, that’s not really the point of my blog.

I’ve also never imposed on myself a clear mandate for somethingburning.com, and not much of an editorial filter, either.  Which is liberating, since my job at Scratch is so much about that kind of stuff.  With the exception of Brad Grossman, who berates me for not having more of a focus with the blog, most readers haven’t seemed to mind the aperture, so far.

This blog tries to be fun, curious, and other stuff I can’t remember.  In fits and starts, it can take you down a rabbit hole if you let it.

This blog tries not to be a family photo album or the self-indulgent diary diarrhea of a corporate media tool.  Enough corporate tools already do just that.

I have one of those jobs where so much happens in the day, there’s no way I could remember it all.  Not even half.  It’s a good day for me if I can keep myself in the moments as they happen.  I write posts early in the morning, late at night, or while I’m on a boring conference call.  I often use this blog to catch stuff I’m curious about, learning from, allergic to, want to share with friends and colleagues, etc.

It’s fun to look back and see what people read most here, this year.  It’s a nice balance.  So here it is…
