Thom Yorke, Beck, Fleet Foxes, Cold War Kids, Gnarls Barkley, Sonic Youth, The Shins, Queens of the Stone Age, The White Stripes, CSS, The Dead Weather… All In Nigel Godrich's "From The Basement"
Not new. Just awesome.

Greg Clayman turned me on to Nigel Godrich's FROM THE BASEMENT a few months ago, now I just stare at these videos over and over, wondering how to someday make stuff this simple, this good. It's like you're the only person in the room with, say, Thom Yorke, and he's playing just for you. Or Beck. Or PJ Harvey, The Shins, The Kills, The White Stripes, CSS, Cold War Kids, Autolux, Fleet Foxes, Gnarls Barkley, Jose Gonzalez, Sonic Youth, Queens of the Stone Age.

I got to work with Jack White and The Dead Weather a couple of months ago on a huge stage, thousands of people. But here they are in a basement, and it's the same huge energy and intensity, and this time it's just for you, like there's no one else around…
The Dead Weather / Treat Me Like Your Mother
Beck / Motorcade
Thom Yorke / Analyse

fromthebasement is a great site, been checking it out for years. wish you guys at MTV would do this or just make a deal and put it on TV somehow, can't be expensive for you to acquire, and it's instantly credible music programming.

wonder if you saw this, it's a bunch of awesome musicians who get together to record and reinterpret an album in a day: http://www.beck.com/record_club
