“What Got You Here Won’t Get You There”

Shit getting nuts at work? Knowwhatyoumean.

Six months ago, one of my bosses handed me the book “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There.” Ouch. At least he couched it by telling me his boss had given the same book to him, recently, and he loved it.

Anyway, I’ve been reading it, though I admit I took the cover off so nobody would know.

@aplusk recently shared a video with me that kinda sums up a few lessons from the book. If the guy in this video stays this cool with a car about to crush him, maybe I need to work on my composure under fire, some more…

    right on — i was embarassed to read that book too but i did and it's helped me be a better CFO at a tech company I think you guys work with a lot at MTV. also now readung Keith Ferrazzi's book Never Eat Alone (equally embarrassing title on the subway) and it's pretty good too. Anybody else admit reading Ferrazzi?

    i read Ferrazzi to, but the Who's Got Your Back book, not the Eat Alone one. Strident but a little too magic-bullet for me. My job's a little more complicated than Keith seems to be writing for. Anyway, it def helps you put things in perspective.
