Last night’s Friendly Fires show at Williamsburg Music Hall was good… until it got amazing. That’s when a drunk fan hopped on stage and began dancing wildly. When she got annoying, lead singer Ed MacFarlane tried to politely nudge her off stage.
When that didn’t work, a security guard grabbed her and literally threw her into the crowd.
Ed and the band felt badly about it. So they let everyone come up on stage. As Ed put it, “If one person gets on, you have to all get on!” Meaning about 200 people on a small stage. And total chaos. Somehow, the band never stopped playing, and it went from a friendly fire to a roaring blaze.
Allison, Rawley, MTV News‘s Ryan Kroft and I hung out with Ed, some friends and the band backstage right after the show, when we were all a sweaty mess…
Here’s how the night began, as Friendly Fires took the stage and got off to a good start…
